St. Martin’s Day and everything behind it. Plenty of goose and pumpkin, but we’ll also learn what people ate 2,000 years ago during harvest time, hear the story of the Roman legionnaire known to everyone as St. Martin, and get a taste of Halloween traditions as well. Literally, as we sample goose dishes, each more delicious than the last.
Csaba Katona, a historian at the Hungarian National Archives, will guide us through the historical narrative, while restaurateur Imre Martin will reveal the culinary secrets behind the scenes. The tasting will be provided by the unparalleled cuisine of the Ferdinánd Monarchia Restaurant, located just a few steps from Eötvös10, in the heart of Terézváros.
