In this psychological thriller—winner of the Palme d'Or, the top prize at the world's most prestigious film festival—the seemingly idyllic life of Sandra (Sandra Hüller – *Toni Erdmann*) collapses like a house of cards. The successful German writer lives with her French husband and their visually impaired child in a small village in the French Alps. Following the man's unexpected death, it remains unclear whether it was an accident, suicide, or murder; consequently, Sandra finds herself at the center of a grueling investigation and trial.
Following in the tradition of Hitchcock, the film unfolds entirely from the wife's perspective, leaving the audience to question her innocence. Yet, *Anatomy of a Fall* is far more than a mere crime story: director Justine Triet is primarily interested in the deepest layers of marriage and human relationships.
