As part of the Fringe program, launched in 2024 to support the mission of the Hungarian House of Music—we issue a call for entries each year in three categories—we provide emerging musicians at the start of their careers, amateur bands, and street musicians, music schools, and music workshops the opportunity to perform at various locations within the House. “Hats Off!” is our most informal series, in which we fill the outdoor surroundings of the House of Music—Városliget Park—with street musicians and the music they play. This time, Flóra Ujváry will be performing around the House and at the ZeneKert.
Flóra Ujváry’s double bass and vocal solo project features jazz, pop, and folk music arrangements, as well as her own songs. The clean, intimate sound of the double bass and vocals creates an intimate atmosphere and effortlessly blurs the boundaries between genres.
The songs are bound together by a shared pulse that exists in all music and in every person: this inner rhythm connects tradition with contemporary sounds, and personal stories with familiar, shared experiences.
The songs unfold simply and naturally, leaving room for improvisation, silence, and musical ideas born in the moment. A concert filled with attentive presence, where the performer and the audience easily find common ground in the music.
