Aleksandar Škorić is a returning guest at our venue. The Serbian avant-garde, free jazz and experimental drummer performs in numerous permanent and ad hoc formations, most notably the duo MoFaya! with John Dikeman.
Alongside his incredibly energetic drumming — after his latest concert at Lumen, the borrowed drum kit had to be cleaned of blood for quite some time — he also creates incredibly subtle and atmospheric music, especially in his solo work. His solo releases are well worth exploring: slow, almost ritualistic streams of sound that draw you into something resembling an ancient, primordial form of music.
