Pavel “Pasha” Talankin is the heart and soul of the local school in a forgotten Russian town in the middle of the Ural Mountains. Pasha is in charge of filming school events—and keeping everyone in good spirits. His office is an island of freedom, a true refuge for the students. But with the start of the invasion of Ukraine, new “patriotic” curriculum and programs are being introduced. Putin’s reach extends even to this remote little town, and he has Pasha by the throat: the beloved teacher has no choice but to put his video camera to work in the service of propaganda. However, the free-spirited prankster is unable to sit idly by and watch the brainwashing reach its peak. Instead, he embarks on a risky venture. He films the political indoctrination of the children and the militarization of education, just as his new job description dictates. But from this footage, he creates a film of a completely different kind than what the Kremlin would like to see. But what is the price of rebellion under Putin’s regime?

The film will be screened in the original Russian, with 🇬🇧 ENGLISH and 🇭🇺 HUNGARIAN subtitles.
