I thought I was first, but maybe it was you…
Once, just a corpuscle floating and landing here among the monoliths. Now, muscle, flesh, bone, and sinew playfully search for something upon my arrival.
I wonder if I’m home. Everything seems untouched until my first step upon the dust. The rocks feel hostile to my bare flesh, but maybe I’m hurting them too.
From far away, tiny lights in the sky pull my gaze upward, and I wonder where they’re looking. Could I be the star? Could they be watching me?
Are you watching me?
I see you.
I thought I was first, but it could have been you.
