The Platypus

Evoking John Zorn's mystical universe and the epoch-making genre of the late The Best Bad Trip, a new young star was born just a few months ago in the intricate galaxy of Budapest's oriental jazz scene. Platypus is organized around an occult mythology that bandleader Viktor Kapusi has been dreaming up and building for decades. Now this myth, which we all remember a little, seems to be coming to fruition, and the band wants to finally tell it to the audience in the form of sacred rituals. The band is made up of young representatives of the alternative jazz scene, who may be familiar to listeners from bands such as Kinetic Erotic, Deus Ex Quartet, Barnabás Négyessy Quartet, Mordái, Giliszta, Hari_drama, and The Acoustic Manual Techno Sessions.
