Ori G & Friends Pres.: BACK TO 2016 W/ TOLDYUUSO, ADAM AJKAY, SERGIO, CHOLNA, DREZ

Schedule
Somewhere around 2016, a new, ruthless energy flooded the local underground clubs. Dubstep, riddim, and the harder edges of drum & bass took control of the Budapest night, creating a tight-knit community whose impact is still felt today. Do you remember those nights when the club walls literally vibrated from the bass?
On April 5th at Turbina, we’re bringing back that unrepeatable vibe! Ori G & Friends presents: BACK TO 2016 is not just a nostalgia party; it’s a massive tribute to the era that laid the foundations for the current bass music scene in Hungary.
Who’s spinning the wildest classics of the era?
Toldyuuso The evening’s special guests are coming to you with an extraordinary performance! For anyone up to date with the music industry, the name Toldyuuso is more of a powerful brand than a project needing an introduction. Since their formation in 2022, the duo has co-produced Beton.Hofi’s latest LP and collaborated with Sisi, Lil Frakk, Pogány Induló, Co Lee, and Gyuris, among many other beloved underground artists. The two guys in their twenties also have solo backgrounds: while singer-songwriter Barney Soon studied and created music in the birthplace of electronic music, Berlin, DJ-producer Karyuu signed with a California-based label with his primarily dubstep and riddim-profiled tracks.
Adam Ajkay Adam Ajkay began his career as an electro and dubstep DJ and quickly became a defining figure of the Budapest underground—including the legendary THRASHER and SHIFT parties. Over the years, he has performed at nearly every major domestic club and shared the stage with international bass music superstars like Skrillex, Borgore, and Knife Party. Although he later became a regular performer on national radio and main stages of the biggest festivals, tonight he returns to his hardest dubstep and bass roots.
Sergio Sergio was a key figure in the Hungarian underground bass scene of the 2010s, particularly the SHIFT event series. At these events, hard-hitting drum and bass and dubstep clearly dominated, which Sergio often seasoned with electro, moombahton, and grime elements in his sets. He also represented the international underground line as a resident of Filth FM dubstep radio and was a regular at the most influential domestic party series of the era, including FeelGood INC. and Thrasher nights. At these legendary parties, he regularly shared the booth with names like Adam Ajkay, B’andre, and Stereo Killaz.
Cholna Cholna was a central figure in the local dubstep, riddim, and bass-house community, as well as a core member of the legendary Black Trap crew. Since then, he has been paving the way for the „ISSA VIBE” party series, striving to introduce people to as many genres as possible.
Drez Drez is a defining figure of the domestic bass scene and specifically the Black Trap collective. In the winter of 2016, he and his team began bringing the harder dubstep and riddim sounds into the mainstream of local club life. He has shared the stage with artists such as Marauda, Aweminus, and Infekt.
Ori G The host, who first established his reputation as a resident DJ for The Dubstep Story party series. Over the years, he has consistently proven his talent in the local bass scene, appearing frequently at Next Level and Bladerunnaz events. During his career, he has played alongside and shared the stage with massive international dubstep and bass names like Svdden Death and Aweminus (US), Cookie Monsta, Shiverz dabutcher, Ponicz, and Monxx (UK), Bukez Finezt (DE), or Ganon and Badfella (FR).
Come join us for this early evening nostalgia party and listen to the best bass tracks of 2016 with the era’s top DJs!
