Schedule

PoiL, formed in 2005, is a renowned French avant-garde jazz, brutal progressive rock band whose diverse avant-prog albums Brossaklitt (2014) and Sus (2019) have been a great international success.

Junko Ueda is a prominent figure in Japanese medieval epic storytelling, accompanied by a lute-like, blade-like ancient instrument called satsuma biwa, whose warm and deep voice evokes earthly energies.

An unexpected meeting of two creative and artistic worlds, 2023's PoiL / Ueda is at times beautifully undulating, at times evoking cosmic madness. The material blows apart the boundaries between rock and traditional music, the two universes intertwining in a perfect osmosis and then moving forward in the same direction.

Buddhist shômyô chanting, practiced by monks to ward off evil spirits. Sea battle with ancient clans in severe decline. Junko's stories surf freely on the stormy waves of PoiL - this brash but relentlessly pulsating music will be devastatingly powerful live!

Location

House of Music Hungary
