ferma tasting #5 – Foam & Waves
With summer comes ferma’s new seasonal tasting selection: Foam & Waves.
The inspiration behind Foam & Waves is Lake Balaton. We have countless memories tied to it, and somehow it never feels like a proper summer without it. At the same time, the region’s gastronomic and wine scene becomes more exciting every year, and we wanted to share that with you as well.

Schedule
Good wine, sunsets, lakeside moments, small beach buffets, and long summer evenings—we’ve tried to capture this atmosphere in a single tasting experience.
Expect fresh, saline, citrus-driven, and playful wines, along with sparkling selections that, in our view, perfectly embody the Balaton lifestyle. There will be lighter moments, deeper flavors, and, of course, a few surprises, because we love the unexpected. This won’t be a traditional wine seminar; rather, it’s a relaxed evening of tasting, conversation, and evoking the spirit of Balaton from our perspective.
As always, the essentials remain the same: wines, food, great company, and an informal atmosphere.
Throughout the evening, we’ll focus on:
-Balaton and surrounding wine regions, our favorite producers, and what makes this area so special to us
-Fresh whites, sparkling wines, and Balaton-style expressions, and the characters you’ll discover in the glass
-How these wines are made and what gives them their unmistakably Balaton feel
-What to pay attention to while tasting and how to identify aromas, textures, and styles
-Wine and food pairings, exciting flavor combinations, and how the right bite can transform the experience of a wine
What to expect:
-6+1 wines
-A paired bite with every wine
-Small group setting and a welcoming atmosphere
-Contemporary venue and an open-minded crowd
-Tasting booklet, pen, and educational materials

Since Balaton is our theme, we couldn’t leave behind one of the iconic products of the socialist holiday seasons: Fabulon sun care products. The Guardian of Your Skin exhibition traces the story of this emblematic Hungarian beauty brand.
Dogs are welcome at our tastings, so feel free to bring yours along. We simply ask that you keep their comfort—and that of our other guests—in mind throughout the evening.
The mission of the ferma taste & education team is to introduce people to the world of fermented beverages. Réka and Rolf come from the fields of winemaking and brewing, and through ferma’s events they share their knowledge in a professional yet approachable way, always leaving plenty of room for questions.
