The Roving Chess Club is one of the most exciting and rapidly rising Hungarian underground indie-folk bands of recent years. Formed in 2023, the Budapest-based group—with roots in Szeged and Szolnok—stands out for its unique sound: they blend Anglo-Saxon folk-rock harmonies with British sophisti-pop, Americana, and ’70s underground rock, while incorporating elements such as the cello and trumpet alongside traditional instruments.

Budapest Park, the biggest and coolest open air concert venue of the city hosts the cream of the crop in foreign and domestic mainstream music every year. At first glance, it might seem like the Park is very much out of town, but this is far from the truth - and since the soundsystem was completely renovated last season, we can only recommend the venue even more.
