Tricky, Marta Zlakowska
Tricky is one of the most innovative and influential artists of the past decades, a pioneer of the trip-hop genre who channels his darkest experiences into his music. In 2026, Tricky returns to the stage with a newly created show, which he will also bring to Budapest on June 9, at A38 Ship.

Schedule
Tricky, born Adrian Nicholas Matthews Thaws, was born and raised in Bristol. Music eventually became his escape from a difficult childhood: he first started out in the Wild Bunch, from which
Massive Attack later emerged — and Tricky left his mark on the group’s debut album. He soon parted ways with the band and began a solo career, releasing his debut album in 1995. From
the very beginning, Tricky was one of the defining figures of Bristol’s underground scene and a pioneer of trip-hop. His songs are often shrouded in a dark atmosphere, shaped by his past.
To date, Tricky has released 14 studio albums, the most recent being Fall To Pieces in 2020. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Terry Hall, Björk, Gravediggaz, Alanis Morissette, Grace Jones, and PJ Harvey. His artistic talent is undeniable — even David Bowie was among his admirers, praising Tricky’s unique vision and fearless creativity. For next year’s tour, Tricky promises a bold reimagining of his repertoire, and we’ll be able to join him on this exciting journey on June 9 at A38.
A38 Ship
Converted from a coal-mining ship, the A38 is easily Budapest's most unique concert venue. The belly of the ship has been home to a wide range of live and electronic music for almost 20 years, and when it's full you can feel the rhythmic movement of the partygoers making waves in the Danube. Foreign acts often refer to it afterwards as their favourite club.
